Halloumi Cheese Fries – Hint of Jalapeño

Our Halloumi Cheese Fries with a Hint of Jalapeño are lightly spiced and perfectly seasoned for a subtle kick in every bite! Halloumi cheese is a semi-hard cheese  known for its high melting point, making it ideal for grilling or frying. 

Once cooked, the edges of these cheese fries become wonderfully crisp, while the center retains its silky, smooth texture. This delightful contrast makes them an irresistible treat. Serve them as an appetizer or a side dish, and they are sure to be a hit at your next social gathering.

Cooking Methods

Pan
Pan Fry – In a non-stick skillet set to medium-high heat, add 1 tbsp of Canola oil and heat until it shimmers. Cook on all sides for roughly 20 seconds per side, until it starts to blister.
Deep Fryer
Deep Fry – Set Canola oil to 185oC. Then (using tongs) carefully drop the Cheese Fries in the hot oil. Cook while agitating slightly, to keep them separated, for about 45 seconds. Once done, remove the Cheese Fries and the excess oil.
BBQ
BBQ – Set temperature to 200oC, spray with pam and add the Cheese Fries (using tongs). Rotate them about 20 seconds per side, until they start to blister.

  • 200 ml Mayonnaise
  • 50 ml Chipotle peppers, in sauce
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 15 ml Lemon juice
  • 25 ml Honey
Spicy Yogurt Sauce

Spicy Yogurt Sauce

  • 100 ml Greek yogurt
  • 100 ml Sour cream
  • 25 ml Chopped dill
  • 10 ml Smoked paprika
  • 25 ml Hot sauce
  • 15 ml Lemon juice
  • Pinch Salt
